Indulge in a little ‘you time’
We're getting excited for the mid-October weekend yoga retreat in rural mid-Wales. It's such a beautiful quiet spot and for most of us, is exactly what we need right now.
The retreat venue is just 1 hour, 45 minutes from Chester, near the town of Machynlleth and consists of a beautiful farmhouse, which sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms and two accompanying converted barns, which sleeps 4-5 people in each. All set in sweeping countryside for the ultimate, peaceful weekend retreat.

We're so excited to be hosting Sunday morning yoga sessions at the gorgeous Jaunty Goat on Northgate St, Chester, again. It's home to their delicious plant-based only venue. Think delicious cakes, tasty brekkies, like pancakes and porridge and superb coffee.

Yoga classes in Chester
It’s been a long time but yoga classes indoors and outdoors are now back. We now have a few, regular, weekly yoga classes in Chester, Mold and Hawarden, North Wales. We’re so excited to be back and teaching in-person. Observing people and helping with their movements and alignment to help people individually is something we’ve very much missed.
Going plant-based, a journey
It's actually very easy to be an unhealthy vegan! More companies are recognising people's desire to reduce meat, eggs and dairy from their diets which is good but the way we are marketed to hasn't changed. Reducing meat, dairy and eggs will have an impact on our health for sure, but switching it to mostly processed isn't.
Can I do yoga if I’m pregnant?
If you think about preparing your body and mind to get through a marathon, then you’re preparing yourself for giving birth. Giving birth is about being in tune with your body and yoga helps you to find and enhance this connection. Bringing awareness and a heightened sense of your own body, whilst exploring different postures. The deep breathing can be really powerful to help calm and quiet the body and mind to help give you focus and to relax the body and to help prepare yourself for birth and also to relieve pain during contractions.
Wellbeing in the Workplace
Yoga and breath work can help us work our entire body, in a controlled manner, allowing us to build an important awareness of our bodies, which reduces injuries, illness and boosts our immune system. It also allows us to improve our posture, by working our weaker muscles that if left, can lead to muscle imbalance, as we age. This can typically be seen in poor posture in the elderly. Of course, the biggest benefit is the overall wellbeing and clarity of our mind, which is so important right now.
Access a library of 100+ yoga classes
We now have over 100 yoga classes available on the online library! With a wealth of choices, from restorative to Ashtanga Second Series, with most classes focusing on parts of the body, like core, hips, shoulders, arms or legs, there really is something for everyone! All classes provide modifications too so there's something for everyone, whether you're a beginner or intermediate.
Restorative Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga, is where we take some time to get into a posture and stay in it for 3-5 minutes. The poses are typically seated and focus on opening up the hips. This will be a much needed restorative session, so light some candles, grab a blanket and get yourself comfortable. Lots of focus on deep breathing for this one. A great way to unwind and release emotions.
How to do a yoga twist
This short How To Video shows you how to move into a twist pose. This yoga pose is called Marichyasana C. This also includes a modified version, so you still feel the benefits of the twist.

Is Ashtanga Yoga for Me?
Ashtanga Yoga typically follows a set series of postures and it can take time to learn these poses off by heart, but ultimately it’s all very much about the journey. By learning and practicing Ashtanga Yoga or even any style of yoga, we learn about our body. We gain a deeper understanding of our body and its intricacies. We gain a heightened awareness of our bodies and it is with this awareness, that we can go further than we think our body is currently capable of doing.

What does yoga mean to you?
Whilst I teach yoga twice a week, as a new, working-mum, I don't actually practice the physical element of yoga nearly as much as I want to. (To be fair, even when I was single and a fully-fledged career gal, I still didn't practice much). Life just gets in the way.
